Seniors face many struggles with isolation, lack of activity and health issues. We have developed a number of specifically tailored initiatives and activities to support and engage our seniors’ community. These programs, run by our dedicated staff, assist seniors by involving them in their community and connecting them to resources that help them maintain their health, wellbeing, quality of life and self-reliance.

Seniors Connected Project

This free-to-join program supports seniors and marginalized individuals. It promotes independence and well-being of participants through connecting them to local community resources for physical, mental, emotional and social well-being. The program includes reassurance checks, friendly visits for home-bound clients, and connections to community resources. It is funded by the United Way Greater Toronto.

Seniors Organized and Supported (NHSP) Program

This project mainly aims to increase social participation and inclusion of seniors in their communities. Project activities are led by seniors' leadership groups brought together from the local communities around our Scarborough North & South and Mississauga locations. Activities include physical and mental wellness sessions such as yoga, meditation, Share Your Talents, gardening, painting and community exploration trips.
